WTB: PC P&C 510 SLI PSU

Pohemi

Lifer
I'm planning on buying a PC Power & Cooling PSU, the Turbo Cool 510 SLI model. What I'm wondering is: Is there somewhere online I should look to order one from, or do I just order straight from PC Power and Cooling? 😕

PC Power & Cooling are the best PSU's that I have ever owned...PERIOD...But the crazy pricing has driven me away from them.

For the money IMHO this Fortron Blue Storm for 96 bones delivered to your house cant be beat with a bat.

The Fortron does not have the "wow" factor of the PC Power & Cooling but is an ablsolute beast...Other less expensive alternatives would be Antec or the OCZ newer generation power supply's.

If you just have to have the absolute best then PC Power & Cooling is the way to fly...The rumor control mill has it that several of PC Power & Cooling supply's are Fortron units that have been manufactured by Fortron to PC Power & Coolings specs.

I love good hardware...And will pay, no problem...But in the case of PC Power & Cooling...I just have to say no.

In my humble opinion the Blue Storm is more than capable of running even the most power hungry systems, overclocked into oblivion.

I am not trying to start a flame war...But if 279 duckies seems to have your wallet howling in protest...Do yourself a favor and check out the Fortron...Like I said "cant be beat with a bat"...And not even hammer can touch that.

Seems to me this should have been posted in the "Cases & Cooling" Forum, not in the "For Sale" Forum. I don't see anything For Sale/Trade here.

Oh...sorry...cacknacker. This is where people conduct business on the forums and probably have a better idea of where to buy things at the best prices. If you want, you may consider this a WTB thread. There is nothing in the rules that states I can't post here if I'm not selling or buying anything. This is not a price check thread because I'm not asking what this part is worth, I'm asking where the cheapest place to get one is. If you don't have an answer or idea to the OP, please don't bother posting on the thread. I don't need crappers on a simple question. Thanks. 😛

EDIT: Thanks for the info charlietee. I already have a 500W Ultra though, and with more amps on the rails. I specifically want the PC P&C 510 SLI model for the dual 6 pin PCI-e power connections (and the quality).

i agree with c3p0 on this one, "There is nothing in the rules that states I can't post here if I'm not selling or buying anything" i think the thread itself is for that, you could put a WTB in your title to make everyone happy

OK I'll concede to that, but cases and cooling? I'm not looking for a case/psu combo...I'm trying to find a specific unit PSU, and if a private party actually has one for sale, hook me up!! I don't think I'd get as many responses in cases/cooling... or general hardware for that matter. Those forums are mostly for people to discuss products and get opinions about hardware. Or to post problems in the hope of finding help. I just want to buy a PSU or get info on the CHEAPEST place to get one. Is that so wrrrong? 😕

I just picked up a fortron 300W 20pin PSU from newegg for my dual P3 1ghz rig. 300W you say? Yes, I say. Because forton rates their PSUs at typical power usage, not at peak like everyone else. $35 shipped to my door. The fan doesn't even speed up under a load on both cpus (with a geforce mx400, dual WD400BB hdds on a hacked promise raid controller with an optical drive, 2 cpu fans, 3 case fans). If you buy a fortron in the 400-500W range, you should be set. As for the dual PCI-e plugs, buy adapters, they are cheaper.

I'm eyeballing the PcP&C 510SLI for futureproofness, too. I've heard those rumors that PP&C use the same components as Fortron and Zippy/emacs, but on all the benchmarks I've seen the stability and voltage regulation is MUCH tighter on the PcP&C supplies. If I wasn't trying to sell my P4 rig, I'd be considering one as well.

Directron (if they have the model you want) is probably the cheapest.
