WTB? On Campus Transportation.

This semester at college my schedule has me walking cross campus 2 times and 3 times on wednesday. I have one class where it is actually impossible to get to on time due to the distance between classes.

I was considering my options as far as transportation within campus where you wouldn't be able to hop in your car and drive.
I've seen people with the following
1) Bike
2) Scooter
3) Skateboard
4) Rollerblades

I don't live on campus so I wouldn't be able to take a bike with me. I am tall (6' 3") so I wouldn't look too good on a little razor scooter. Rollerblades would be a pain to get on and off and lug around when you needed shoes. I am considering a skateboard because they aren't too cumbersome to throw under a desk etc and I can easily fit it in my trunk when I go home. The thing is I have never used a skateboard before. I am not sure how hard they are to control if you are just learning to use one. Any skateboarders out there have any advice? Anyone else have any other suggestions for what I could do about on campus transporation?

if you dont know how to skatebaord.. it's gonna take you longer than walking..

i suggest rollerblades..

those come off in a matter of seconds anyways..

and all you need is a small bookbag for your shoes..

Well. I would suggest a motorized scooter, like the ones seen here: Coast Scooters.

You can use it to get around to other places where you just don't feel like driving, too. And they're fun! :) And they get extremely good gas milage. My tank holds 1/3rd of a gallon, and I can go 65+ miles on a tank. That's 195+ mpg. :)

I have the Hawk.

I have some heavy ass k2 rollerblades and while they kick ass and I would love to use them on campus they would be hard to carry around when I was in shoes.

What are people's opinions on these ? http://www.heelys.com/ Or if I get a skateboard what stuff should I look for (featureswise) before I get one? I don't know what is a good skateboard feature besides the ability to roll.

The Heleys are for kids, do you want to look like a kid? I'd go for a skateboard. Skateboards do have a learning curve. It will take you a while before you can ride one well. For your job you need a longboard. It is just a longer skateboard that is better for cruising around not (ie. no tricks). Once you learn how to ride it, you will love it.

I say skateboard.

BTW, what kind of clothes do you wear? Someone wearing a Polo shirt and chinos would be funny as s#it!

Eli motorized = not allowed :)
Yep those heeley's are for kids now that I saw the video of that 7 year old hehe.

Ya I noticed the kids that did have skateboards were of the longer type and I was wondering why that was. Thanks :)
