From their website:

This is the 97X Nation. As a passionate listener to 97X, we want to give back to you with a bunch of really cool and unique free stuff. Downloads. Free Concert Tickets. Trips to see bands in other cities. 97X Nation concerts. No Junk. No Spam. It's New Rock...First!

Want in? If your answer is "Yes", then fill out the form below and we'll get you hooked up.

And remember, 'cause this is very important: WE WILL NOT SPAM YOU. This information is used by 97X alone - we DO NOT share, sell, give away, or disclose this information in any way.

Then after you fill out the form, there's a final check box:

Sure, email me. (We promise, no spam.)

Well... I have my own mail server, so I'll make a new account for everything I sign up for to keep track of what happens to my email. This is how I found out that Canon sold my name, because I registered my printer using canon@mailserver.com and started getting SPAM in my Canon account.

I used a 97x@mailserver.com email address and guess what! I'm now getting three or four SPAM's in that account PER DAY! Usually from this stupid survey that offers a $500 Mastercard giftcard if you sign up for some stuff (same crap as that "free IPod" or "free X-Box" BS) with an email subject of "Do you think the US should pull out of Iraq?"

What a bunch of CRAP!

Cox, 97x and everyone associated with them... You're a bunch of LYING BASTARDS! Every SPAM I get is getting forwarded right back to the station manager dan.connelly@coxtampa.com as well as their online song request box at 97xcomments@97xonline.com

Enjoy! :D

JG, is there any chance that Spam was being sent to that address all along, but it wasn't deliverable before you activated that addy?

No. Even if an email account does not exist, I have it dump to an admin account so I can see what's going on. Often, there's a few pot shots at email addresses like "Joe@mailserver.com" or "Fred@mailserver.com." I didn't even CREATE the 97x account until I signed up with 97x. I know what you're saying, but what are the odds that a SPAMbot decided, "Hey... Let's see if email sent to 97x@mailserver.com gets rejected." You know?

Yep, if you've been accepting all emails and routing them to an admin account, then you would have known if emails to 97x@mailserver.com had been coming in all along.
