US PC Sales in the first quarter were 15.9 million vs 74.4 million world wide. In other words, a country of 320 million buys >21% of the PCs in a world of 7,000 million. We also buy about 1 in every 3 monitors sold, and have a PC:population ratio of > 760:1000 vs China's 41:1000.

What's more the US market grew at 6.9% rate in Q2 2014, while the world market shrunk at a -1.7% rate.

How you can get from those facts to the US being "one of the smallest segments today for sales" is something only you can know.

not all is well though according to this:

That's good for now but imagine the potential sales in Asia going forward. One day the ratio will come close to parity. It may take a few decades but that's where the growth is.
