WRT54GS router config page won't come up

I tried connecting two WRT54GS routers together so I can have a bigger wireless home network but now I can't connect to the config page of one of the WRT54GS routers. I type the number 192.168.100.125 that I set it for but no username or password prompt ever comes up. I tried the reset button but nothing happened. Even tried holding the reset button for a few seconds and still nothing.

I followed these instructions http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html and now I can't connect to one of the WRT54GS routers config page.

I changed the ip address of the 2nd WRT54GS router, the one that won't allow me to access the config page, from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.100.125 because these instructions http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html told me to change the IP address of the Router so that it's in the same subnet as the main Router.

How do I access the config page of my 2nd WRT54GS router please?

How long should I hold reset for please and by plugging it in directly your talking about a ethernet cable from my pc to the back of one of the ethernet ports not the uplink port correct?

Sorry it sorta worked except it couldn't get a ip address.

It wouldn't renew.

I changed the ip address manually to 192.168.100.126 and set all the other settings like gateway, etc and then was able to access the router!

So you did help a lot it just wouldn't renew for some reason 🙁

I don't know whats up.

Nevermind I think I now know whats up the 2nd WRT54GS router has DHCP turned off because thats what the guide said to do on the link I provided in my first post.

I don't get this stuff but will try to see if I can understand how to use 2 routers to beable to extend the wireless signal and still beable to use the router as a ethernet cable router as well for my pcs too.

If not then I will just have to deal with the little bit weak wireless signal to my laptop over in the other room.

A hard reset with the button SHOULD factory reset the router. Which means the DHCP server should be back on.

Yep but for some reason all the settings were still the same even after putting the tip of pen inside the reset button and holding it for 15 seconds or more.

Who knows.

Crazy routers.

I have always hated routers, printers and scanners lol.
