WRT54G Un-Bricking Wont Work

I bricked two(2) WRT54G routers yesterday. Nothing but a blinking green light on both of em.

I've tried it all, including opening up the machines, and putting a conductor in between pins 15 and 16 of the flash memory while pulgging in the power (there are tutorials on how to do this all over the internet). Everyone claims that this will jump the flash memory and I should start getting pings.

All I'm getting is electricity up my arm, and no response from either router.

Any Ideas I'm in a bind here.

Sounds like it's time to go shopping for new routers. It's the chance you take when you start altering the manufacturers setup, which I assume is what you were doing when you bricked the routers. "Un-Bricking" is NOT a guarantee. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

This happened to be about 3 months back. I tried everything short of the hairydairymaid fix with the jtag cable. If you REALLY want to save the router this is worth a try but other than that if you tried the normal steps don't waste your time. Your time is more valuable than the router.

p.s. my flashing green came from weird power fluctuations in the area and came home one day to a flashing green linksys not from modding it.
