Router: WRT54G v2.2
Firmware: HyperWRT 2.1b1
Modem: Speedstream 5100
ISP: SBC adsl 3000 Mbps /386 Mbps
Wireless Adapter: Microsoft MN-510

The wireless connections on the clients routinely get dropped and sometimes are not able to reconnect for an hour or so. I really have no idea why this is happened. I have changed the Beacon Interval to 50, reduced tx rate, increased tx power, fiddled with antenna positions, mounted the wrt with leds facing down, and have changed rts and fragmentation threshold to 2304 on the router and on the wireless usb adapters. I've tried all I could think of and find on the net and I have not been able to get the WRT to stop dropping signal. My old MN-500 NEVER did this and I am also tempted to switch back. Any help? TIA

edit: forgot to add the hardware revision

Maybe you should have stuck with the stock firmware? :D

I've heard of issues with WLAN dropping out as you describe (particularly with WRT54G and GS) but I've never been able to replicate it.

Flashing my firmware significantly reduces the frequency at which the drops occur.

The router is on a computer desk so I'm sure he passes the line of sight between the router and client computers quite often. I really don't know why a human body should be too much interference as my old Microshat router didn't do this. I am so mad at Linksys right now.

My Microsoft Broadband Networking tool says I'm connected to the router but not to the internet. What's wrong?
