I have decided to add the "Articles" section on my web site. Hopefully I will be able to help couple of people with my advice...
Anyway.
The first writing is my take on what matters most when picking up a new computer system. The article is aimed at the casual person, not too familiar with computers.
This is basically a "quick and dirty" guide on what to look for, without going into much technical detail.
Let me know what you think...
I am going to add some more pictures to make it easier for brain latter on...
:D

the article was meh....

you still are required to know what that stuff is...and anybody that knows what you are talking about won't need your article

in other words nice try...but you need to make it appeal to your audience more

the sad part is though...

anyone that doesn't know a whole lot about computers usually is the type of person that wont read something like this at all or even try to find info online

when i started working retail i was suprised at how many people relied entirely on the sales guy to pick their computer

Not bad adlep, but you need to put more work into the summary IMO:

To summarize, the amount of RAM memory is the most important parameter one should consider when shopping for a computer. 512 MB of RAM memory is the minimum any computer (desktop and laptop) has to have for a comfortable work. Consider more to make your system ?future proof?. Good luck with your purchase.

You're basically telling people to focus mainly on RAM after doing a good job breaking down what every consumer should be aware of; tie the whole article together :)

Try to see the article through the eyes of the person not familiar with computers...
And what do you mean: appeal to my audience more?
Thanks for the feedback btw...:)

I am seeing it through the eyes of someone that knows nothing about computers...and even though i know what you are talking about.......your audience will not/nor will they care...

Ok...
Is there something you think I should add to make it more appealing?

mention in there that in this day and age for the most part you still get what you pay for

and also if you buy cheap you will most likely buy twice (and usually you buy the more expensive one the 2nd time around anyway :))

Thanks,
This is exactly my point.
Basically, even a POS Celeron 2.0 GHz will still work fine today, if the PC will have enough memory.
Heck, 1GHz Pentium III will still work like a charm, with enough RAM.
So, the key point of the article is this:
Any kind of a PC will last you -the reader for a long time, if you will make an investment in RAM.
:D
That is the only number the novice reader will have to remember when shopping for a PC...

to future proof a computer better tell them to buy the most suped up system they can

the better it is off the shelf today the longer it will last into the future with out upgrading

Can not do that as most of people are trying to get an inexpensive computer for kids and they are being ripped of by the sales people in BB or CrapUSA...
See this happening all the time.
Once again, for about 80% of people out there, 1GHz P III will still be plenty fast, if it has plenty of RAM...
My point:
1GHz P III with 756 MB of RAM > 2.56GHz Dell Celeron with 256MB or RAM

OK, will think about summarizing it better. Although, I wanted to make sure that the RAM part screams at the reader :D
