okay, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to burners. I just swapped out a sony 8/4/32 with an NEC NR-7700a 12/10/32. Under Windows 2000, it's seen as a NEC NR-7700A. But now what? Easy CD Creator and DirectCD don't seem to see it as a CDRW. Am I supposed to be looking for a Win2k NEC CDRW driver (which I can't find on NEC's site) or compatible burning software?
Basically, it boils down to who is suppose to recognize the burning functionality, Windows 2000 or the burning software? Win2k is recognizes it as a standard CD-ROM. Under Linux, the proper CDRW modules are found and the burner is recognized as two devices (the reader and the writer).
EDIT:
oops, sorry, wrong forum.
