<DIV>I seem to have deleted a critical file of mine by mistake. I have no idea how and little idea when (though I remember accessing it last month, so it couldn't have been that long ago. It's not in the recycle bin because I empty it regularly. Last month I was asking if a simple reformat would delete everything on a hard drive I was selling on eBay, and the response got on this (and other) newsgroups was that reformatting a drive only deletes the references to the information but that it's still actually on there until something else is written over it or I use a program like BC Wipe. So I'm thinking that the file I want is still on my hard drive though I can't see it in Windows. How can I go about recovering this file? It's really critical that I get it back. Any help I could get would much appreciated, to put it mildly.</DIV>

Try this. It's free and fast.

Good Luck -- I've just been through a similar experience - and this program found everything I'd deleted...
