Here was system I was running with win 98Se

Celeron II 566 @ 800mhz / GORB
Asus P3V4X
256 megs of CAS3 PC133
Maxtor 20 gig 7200 rpm
Radeon LE from newegg /w Hyper Z Hack
DirectX 8.0a
Aopen AW 320 PCI Sound
3Com pci modem & NIC

With this rig I got ~ 2249 3d Marks (3D Mark 01) 800 x 600 x 32 all other options @ default

Well, I recently upgraded.
I got tired of flaky via based mobo's at work so I went with a gigabyte board with the intel 815EP chipset.
I also bought a Intel PIII 1 gig.
And I got 384 megs of CAS 2 Vital Ram

The rest of the system remained unchanged.

Now, I was thinking while I was putting in "Real hardware" (not overlcocked) I might as well put a "Real OS" I.E. Windows 2k.

Well after all was loaded I ran 3DMark 2001 once again @ 800x600x32, all defaults. I was horrified nothing was fluid and my score was 1429! Now, I know that Win2K has lots more overhead, but I thought going to the 1 gig and having not only more ram but CAS2 Ram would more than makeup for it. I used Sisoft Sandra 2001 to make sure ram is at CAS2 and that agp 4x is enabled. I have heard that ATI's win2K drivers aren't that great, but this is deplorable!

I also don't know how to hack hyperZ under 2k's registry? this shoudl add ~ 200 3d marks.

Will the Regular DDR Radeon drivers from ati.com work on the LE? or am I stuck with the old CD they sent with it?

Someone please help!

thanks peeeps.
