I just installed a BFG 5600 Ultra, and Rivatuner tells me the core clock speed is 235 (instead of 400) (correctly identifies mem speed as 800). It actually shows 235 over 58.5 for the core clock speed, and 800 over 171 for the mem speed, so maybe both settings are messed up, I'm just not sure. I uninstalled drivers, then used driver cleaner, then installed 52.16 drivers, and it says the same thing (same result previously with install of 45.23 drivers with this card). Would appreciate any help.
Edit: In "low level system tweaks," it shows core clock of 58.5 and memory clock of 171.0; in "system tweaks" (driver settings tab), it shows core clock of 235 over 58.5 and 800 over 171.0; I haven't used this utility a whole lot and am not sure what the heck is going on. I do know Rivatuner showed the correct settings (250/513) for the Ti4200 I just took out of this system.
Edit2: Was doing some reading over at Guru3D forums and somebody had a similar problem, was told that the settings showing up in Rivatuner or similar programs were for 2D performance and the 400/800 (or whatever applies to an involved card with a similar problem) are the 3D settings that kick in when needed. I followed the suggestion given there, to download coolbits and check the 3d settings, and did so: shows 235/800 for 2D and 400/800 for 3D. So I guess it's not a problem after all....right (I'm still not sure where those freaky 58.5/171 numbers came from)?
