last night i thought i would update the bios on my gigabyte GA-6VX7-4X which was reviewed on anandtech in this article http://www2.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1182&p=20

i accidentally used the GA-6VX-4X bios, now nothing works

reading the above article suggests that the mobo has a dual bios however i cannot find anything regarding this in my manual, the review at toms hardware suggests that this mobo does not have the dual bios feature, doh

when i turn the box on it just buzzes the hard drive for a while and then does nothing

i cannot boot from a floppy to put the correct bios on

can anyone offer any suggestions as to how i can fix this situation (short of buying a new mobo)

any help would be appreciated

regards

look at the motherboard itself, you will be able to see if it has two bios chips or not

if it only has one chip you can get a replacement from gigabyte or buy them online. several places sell bios chips (with the bios revision you want)
