Hello everyone,

My old burner which recently R.I.P could burn and play CD-RW(home made audio CD's) on my Panasonic portable CD player. Now I have my new LG GSA-4167B which burns the CD-RW audio successfully and could play on my comp but couldn't on my portable CD player. Why is it so?

Please help me. I really want to listen to my songs once again. Thanks.

Not all cd players will play cdrw discs. I think it has something to do with the decreased reflectivity of the discs. This isn't the fault of the burner, rather the player.

I don't bother with R/W media.... If you're worried about rewriting, (Since you'd need a new CD player anyways) I'd just invest a CD player that can read data discs, then one CD-RW for 9-10 CD's worth of your music.

Are you using a different brand of media? Some CD players are picky as hell about media.

i still have some cd-rw discs i bought like 4-5 years ago and never used them. cd-rs are so cheap now you can afford to burn a new cd with different music.

if you're worried about changing music, you should buy a mp3 player instead.

Your choices...
(1) Find out what your cd player can play, by only those discs
(2) Get a cd player that can play data discs
(3) Get an iPod (or nano)

I vote for 3
Once you get an iPod, you'll really wonder why you ever bothered with cd players...

It's not just about the iPod, it's also about the software support and the ability to organize your library/search for songs.
I think that's why Apple is so successful, it's more about the integration of hardware and software that makes doing anything seem seamless... too bad you can't customize your own Macs. That's why I have a spanking new homebuilt AMD system instead of a G5.

Everyone, this is the player I got.

It is CD/RW compatible. So could it be the burner or media(CD-RW) problem? Because I played the burned disk on my standalone DVD player and it works. And my other music albums plays well on my portable CD player.

Any idea? :)
