Writing to cdr or dvdr as a floppy

The software that came with my Sony DRU500AX will not let me write to R's as a floppy, only to RW's as a floppy. I have the Sony drive and a Plextor 48/24/48 in my new system. I am leaning toward the Easy CD and DVD Creator, but does anyone know if this will let me write to cdr, dvd-r, and dvd+r as a floppy?
