Writing a paper on a movie....

Right now its between GATTACA and Run Lola Run....

the prompt is as follows:

Watch a move, then write a paper that explorers how you think the film developed or incorporated one particular element or theme. Your thesis should be non-obvious: for example, do not write a paper simply claiming that Dead Man Walking is about capital punishment - instead you might choose to interpret how the film presents capital punishment. Support your thesis with specific examples from the movie.

You might be interested in some variation of this, such as:

-Choose a recent, non documentary fialm and analyze how it relates to or plays with certain contemporary anxieties or current debates in American Culture
-Think about the artistic choices that the film makes. What are the effects of these choices on the telling of the story? On the viewing audience?
-Consider one particular character in the movie. Is this character Dynamic or Static? What seems to be that character's purpose in the movie? What makes them do what they do in the film?

I know both would be easy with this prompt, i just cannot decide which, and also wonder how im gonna get 4-5 pages out of it!?!

seen both, seems like it would be easier to write a paper about Gattaca.

yeah. especially because of the american culture...and the other film being german and all.
i mean, its still relevant...but i think that gattaca has more obvious avenues for discussion.

yeah, Ive been thinking more and more about it, and while RLR does have a good meaning (that even the slightest change can affect your entire life)....I think there is more support behind the meanings in GATTACA
