Sounds pretty stupid. If I recall things correctly, there's nothing anti-semitic in there. No more than the hanukkah song.

If I recall Family Guy is covered under the parody clause in the copyright act.

Yeah, was about to say, parody is protected by law against such suits, I would assume a big network like Fox would make sure to have lawyers review the shows they were putting on to make sure no laws are borken.

Tomorrow: Weird Al forced to pay billions in copyright violations penalties for, well, every song he's ever made.

Well, the lawsuit isn't that it is stealing anything, the lawsuit is that it destroys the image of the original song by having antisemitical connotations.
Either way, it'll probably fail.

Did the guy's lawyer tell him that he's going to lose miserably in court? If not, the lawyer should be disbarred.

Interestingly enough, Weird Al usually asks permission before doing a parody. I've heard him say he didn't do one because of objections.

He got permission for an Eminem song, but didn't get permission to do an accompanying video, so didn't.
I'd assume the story is similar for his other stuff.

He never asked me. I'd have said no to everything :)

creating song parodies has to be the easiest job ever... you got the tune all you gotta do is replace the lyrics with something silly :)
