I notice there's a lot of tools out there that rename files based on EXIF, but I'm looking to do the opposite. In this case, I have a bunch of files, Android screenshots and Whatsapp photos to be exact that have a filename with the timestamp but no EXIF information.
Makes sense. The phone then uses date created/modified to properly categorize them in the gallery. However, when I transfer to a new phone, the date created are all reset to Jan 1, 1970. I figure if I write EXIF information to it, at least the gallery will sort them properly.
Any way to do that using filenames? The funny thing is tag & rename for MP3s can write IDv3 tags based on file name or rename based on IDv3 tags. I hope something like that for photos exists....
