Wrightspeed X1 EV Concept

Saw this on Business 2.0 Magazine and found a video on their website....0-60 in 3.0 seconds 238 bhp expected price ~$100,000

The videos offer proof, it destroyes the two other cars...still a prototype, but I can't wait until it becomes production and I can afford it 🙂 Sadly it will never happen 🙁

It's amazing once you see the video...

Fully electric 🙂

edit: now with poll, will you ever get one?

I'll take a stab: nice try but the chassis is lifted from ariel. It's not really much more than an atom with electric power, and I'd take the gas-fed honda-driven version for practicality any day of the week. It's just as fast (or faster) and probably cheaper to maintain.

hmm....but $100k is pretty cheap for a EV...especially a speed demon like this one 🙂 After all, it's just for performance...comparable indy cars are millions of dollars and cost that much to maintain as well....no gas needed 🙂

edit: Ok fine, it's a prototype, and sounds too good to be true...great track star, but nothing else...you're just sitting in a bucket 😉

Agreed. I also can't get over the fact that the guy gives no credit to Ariel for anything. Without their awesome frame/chassis/suspension/whatever you call it that the Atom has, this electric car would be nothing.

you obviously have not bought a used race car 🙂

they can be about 60 - 250k

indy cars are around 60k used

true true, that Atom is awesome...i guess Business 2.0 just exaggerated things again....sorry guys 🙁 i didn't know...

that's cool 😉 ah, what a dream...it's not like anyone actually needs that kind of performance anyway...it will just become another Ford Indigo 🙁....

I was getting ready to say, that looks a lot like the Ariel. Are they trying to pass it off as their design?

Here's a vid of the Ariel: Text

The Atom costs half that

i think it takes the joy out of driving, because it only has one gear and makes no engine roar....that's sad 🙁🙁🙁

electric ariel atom eh?

range is greater than 100 miles in urban settings, which is good enough for 99% of driving.
