Hey guys it's been 6 years since I've built a new system of core parts. Time to retire the vernable Q6600. And would like some input from the community on a few things.

So first question decided to up the ante this time around with the video card. I want a R290X. No question about it. Already ordered the waterblock and decided to go water cooling for the GPU&CPU after reading about the noise the stock fan makes.

I do plan on overclocking it but am looking for a R290X with the Hynix memory which supposedly is best for OC'ing. Do you those owners that own a R290X know which memory yours has? I know that this ASUS some come and some don't: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121819

Or is it just one of those things were it's the luck of the draw.

If not I'm just going to get this:

Cause it'll save me the trouble of having to buy BF4.

This system will mainly be used to for gaming, video and publisher editing and homework.
With that said here's my build thus far:

Processor:
i7 4770k Haswell

Motherboard MSi MPOWER

(hopefully this will be more reliable then the last MSi I owned)

SSD
Seagate 600 Series 240GB x 2 for RAID
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ab=true&Page=2

Memory: Could use some advice. Would like between 2133-2400 while keeping it reasonable but overclockability is wanted.

PSU, Case, ODD's, fans and storage drives are being used from old system.

And the last advice I am looking for is the water cooling setup.

CPU cooler:

GPU cooler:

Radiator:

Resevoir+pump
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2...riant_Pump_Installed_15171.html?tl=g30c97s152

Silver Bullet

Biocide
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1...ate_Biocidal_PC_Coolant_Additive_-_15_mL.html

I forgot the corrosion resistance so I will call them tomorrow.

Anyways any critique or recommendations on the build is appreciated. Comments such as "your build sucks" is not constructive how ever I do appreciate the build.

A word of advice: don't bother putting the SSDs in RAID0. You lose reliability and long-term performance (harder for TRIM and GC to identify unused blocks) and don't gain any worthwhile real-world performance benefits. Sure you can theoretically read a file a 600 MB/s, but what do you have that can actually write that fast? Even with a single SSD, your game loading times will be basically CPU-bound.

Thanks! And yeah that's what I thought I was arguing about this with a friend. He was insistent that RAID 0 ismuch faster. But everything I read is it isn't and you loose performance. Also what is GC?

Garbage Collection, specifically background garbage collection done by the SSD controller. It tries to clean up blocks that its sure aren't in use anymore.
