Does anyone know of an HP-branded or third-party power adaptor for HP laptops that allows you to wrap the cords around the actual power brick with some sort of clap to then keep the cables in place? I just bought an HP tx2z to replace my old Dell 700m, and the Dell came with a power brick which you could wrap the power cables around and an elastic band to then hold the cables in place. I believe the Apple power bricks also have some sort of system for doing this. As it stands, it seems like my only option is to sew velcro straps the the power cables on the HP power supply and use those to keep the cables in check when I put them in my bag, although that option is kind of ghetto and probably sub-optimal. Here is a link to a picture of the Dell power adapter to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Ithink I understand your question. I have an HP laptop, and Lenovo laptop. The Lenovo brick comes with a velcro-lined tape that is fastened to the cable. It slides on the cable and can be positioned to do this:

T60

The HP lappie comes with a little zippered bag that you stuff the brick cables into. Not as neat. It is easy to make a velcro strap. Cut equal lengths of male and female adhesive velcro and stick them together. Then use that to hold the HP cable wrapped on the brick.

Thanks corkyg. At least your laptop came with a bag for the cables! All mine came with were flimsy twisty-ties. Ah well. I'll make my own velcro straps using these strips I got a the dollar store (10 for $1 - can't beat that). They are loops all on one side of the strip with a small area of hooks on one end. I'll just make my own velcro strip similar to how your Lenovo came. It isn't as clean or as neat as the Dell's power brick, since with the dell, you can unroll only as much as you need and the cable that plugs into the wall hooks into the actual power inverter at a 90 degree angle so it is easy to wrap it. They must have a patent on it or something. IMHO, the cable management system for the Dell power adapter's is the best (better than Apple's).
