Not sure I care whether or not it's classified as a sport, but Nascar drivers are definitely athlethes in their own way. Driving those cars is a helluva beating at speed, not quite to the F1 level, but it's no joke. The G-forces, the dehydration, the precise concentration and coordination required, the years and years of experience moving up the ranks from more basic racing types.

I don't even like Nascar, but I still respect the high physical and mental abilities necessary to perform there.

Racing is a sport.

Play card games - that's a game. Game of chance or game of skill - it's still just a game.

When Websters starts defining Monopoly as a sport, then we can come back and revisit this.

Game != Sport
 
Kinda like how in high school all the nerdy losers called themselves athletes for being on the debate or mock trial team.
