I am trying to convert some word perfect files to doc files for my dad because some stupid agency (I wont say which) sent him .wpd files, not thinking that he might not have Word Perfect. Well he dosent. He has only MS Word.

So I am trying to convert them for him now. I found some stuff on google but you have to pay for it. Crypes I need to get them converted really quickly and getm back to him...

So if anyone can name an app or point me to a quick download or something (im on dial-up:() that would be really cool.

Any help is mucho appreciated!

Do you have the ability to save as a rich text file (RTF)? This should allow you to preserve most of the formatting and he can open it in Word.

Word can open WPD files as long as you have the correct convert/filter installed. This is easy to do. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Office. Then select change. After that make sure that the correct converters will be installed (it will ask for your office CD). You should be set.
