WPA2 and windows XP question

I want to connect to a WPA2 wireless newtwork with my winxp computer. But I don't really wanna install Service Pack 2. Is there a way to connect without installing SP2?

Nothing wrong with SP2. Unless you are running something really old/strange, it shouldn't cause you any grief.

i didnt install it before, because i play a lot of city of heroes and there was a lot of talk of it causing problems with the game, but i spose that might be cleared up by now.

the client utility should support WPA2 without SP2, what card is this?
Using Entry Level Wireless it would not work, Windows would not proccess it. The WPA2 upgrade is more than the WZC Utility.

You're sacrificing security for a game? Seriously get SP2 already.

Ok, I installed SP2, but i still can't get it working. My network card is a USR 2210. But I haven't been able to find anywhere if that card is not compatible with WPA2 networks. Anyone know

USR 2210 is an 802.11b, the chipset on 802.11b is rather old and Not capable to deal with WPA2. Many cannot even do WPA. and are WEP only.

Yep. I did a little research on that NIC, and the latest drivers support WPA, but definitely not WPA2. Sorry.

Wasn't sure with entry level, I just know that we did WPA2 testing prior to SP2
