Hi Guys!
If I plan to use WPA encryption on my router do I need a specific wireless card that can handle a WPA setup on my wireless network? All my computers are now using G cards if that makes any difference.
Another issue I am not sure about after doing some searches online is the possible bottleneck WEP and WPA encryptions can create on a network. If WEP or WPA is enabled will it degrade my throughput when playing online games?
I just purchased a new Linksys WRT54G router because my old one was not performing as planned. My online gaming latency times were in the 700-1000s and when I got the new router everything is below 50. So I am concerned that by having WEP/WPA enabled it would increase my latency times.
Thanks!
