I run an 802.11g home network with three laptops accessing it. One is WinXP + Centrino; and two have Win2K, one with a Belkin 54G adapter and one with a Cisco Aeronet 350 adapter. Because the Belkin 54G adapter does not support WPA on Win2K, I am forced to run WEP. I tried the free Wireless Security Corp. WPA Assistant for this purpose. But to use that I have to enable SSID broadcast. Right now, I have decided in favor of WEP + no SSID against WPA + SSID.
Does anyone know how to implement WPA on Win2K client FOR FREE? If not, is my choice between WEP + no SSID and WPA + SSID correct?
Thank you.
Happy computing,
SCM.
