The Lumia 1520 is well-documented now. Snapdragon 800 and 1080p screen. That's excellent, but leaves me wondering if it will even matter. My Lumia 920 doesn't stutter at any point, so I'm left wondering what the more powerful CPU and GPU will bring.

Extra RAM is almost certain as well. The Lumia 1020 has 2 GB, but I don't know how much it actually affects multitasking.

My Lumia 520 doesn't really suffer from lack of CPU power - it is absolutely slower than my 920, but that seems to mostly be caused by flushing things in and out of RAM.

I'm not suggesting "we don't need faster hardware," I'm just a bit curious as to what advantages it will bring.

Better GPU for games.
The 800 is supposed to be more power efficient, support for 4k video.
You also now have a 1080p screen, more pixels, more power needed.

I *hope* that manufacturers are prudent with them and use them as needed (ie, 1080p needs more, an update to the 1020 to help processing images faster, etc). Add RAM where needed, etc etc.

Similarly I have a 928 and really the only thing I could desire from a new SOC is even better power efficiency, though mine is outstanding as is. Hopefully a newer dual core version with process improvements etc comes out as well.
