I love the analysis stats included in that article. I would love to see WP make a dent in the market... but those stats lol so pulled out of someones ass.

Recent data from Gartner suggests Windows Phone will surpass iOS as the second most popular mobile operating system with a 19.5% share of the global smartphone market by 2015. Android is expected to have a 49% share at that time.

That's surprising considering how mediocre the phones available have been from HTC.

Poor quoting skills by BGR. It says 30% of HTC sales in Singapore.

I played with all of the W7 phones at a Microsoft store and I though the HTC HD7S was pretty damned nice and clearly the best of the bunch they had there. If it was available on Verizon I'd grab one.

Yea, there isn't shit available on Verizon so far as W7 is concerned. I'd enter a new 2yr contract if they put out a decent new W7 phone.

And nothing is changing, at least not yet. At&t is getting three new handsets and T-mobile is getting one. And nothing for Verizon or Sprint, at least not yet. Personally, I'd love to see the Optimus Black with WP7 on it. It already has the hardware for it (second gen snapdragon). The NOVA display would be awesome with the metro UI. Or maybe a Titan-esque phone with a 4.3" qhd display on Verizon or Sprint? I don't get why the slow pace with WP7. I think it's a great platform.

An updated version of the Omnia 7 just went through FCC certification with CDMA bands. Looks like Sprint or Verizon will get a new version of the best Windows phone (that never came out in the USA for some reason). Along with the front-facing camera, it will presumably come with a 2nd-gen Snapdragon, probably the 1.4 GHz version their other two Mango phones use.

The original Omnia 7 sounded awesome, I was jealous it didn't come out here. It used the same screen as the Focus but it has a metal body and looks very nice.

That sure would be awesome! I hope it lands on Sprint though. Verizon is too pricey for what you get :(

seems like the story of android is you need twice the specs to run at the same responsiveness as iOS and WP

go to the at&t store and play with a few phones doing similar tasks like maps, searching, etc. iphone and WP phones are a lot faster than android

Nobody mentioned android. This seems to be a thread about WP7. So, uhhh, discuss WP7?

we would discuss WP7, but the 30% BS title makes this thread meaningless.
