...Woz asked, "...where is the nearest donut shop?" and he got "...the gym is 3 blocks away"

In other news, consumers still buy iPhones in droves.

"The iPhone is the least frightening thing. For that kind of person who is scared of complexity, well, here's a phone that is simple to use and does what you need it to do" :D

In other other news, consumers still buy Android phones in droves too.

In other other other news, people just buy what they want and won't be swayed by bad internet arguments.

Have the Siri results gotten that bad? I know when I first got a 4S it was pretty slick with questions like that, but I sold the 4S and got a Galaxy Nexus so I haven't used it in awhile.

I actually did try Woz' search "prime numbers > 87" and it returned a wacky result

at present I only use siri for appointments/reminders/directions/unit calculations

What happens on an Android phone when you ask it those things? Does it convert the voice to text and then do a Google search, resulting in a page of results? I am curious.

Pretty much. I did the prime numbers one and it just did a search on the exact search string. First result was a Wikipedia page....then a ton of links with copies of this Woz article.

what did they do to Siri? IT used to be wondeful and slap the shit out of Google Voice Search. Its like they downgraded it simply because Voice Search is still behind anyway....

I can't believe anyone would ever talk to their phone as if it were living...

Which is better depends entirely upon the person judging. We all have different wants and needs, and each OS caters to them in their own way. I like Android much better than iOS. Doesn't mean iOS sucks, it just "sucks" to me. Someone else could have the exact opposite opinion and they'd be right.

What's sad is people who talk shit about companies simply because they are fans of another. These are corporations, their sole purpose is to make us give them money.

I love my Iphone4, but Siri is just a hair away from worthless. I use it for timers, reminders, and to occasionally transcribe a text message, but it seems to miss more than it hits getting it to do what I want. It's the first thing I've seen thrown into an ihpone that was not polished, which is what Android is more about.
