So I was playing Americas Army, and I was looking for a fairly empty server to play the SF Snake Plane map. So I scanned the list and stumbled upon the server of the -=of God=- clan. I play a few rounds, they seem like nice guys everything going good.

Then I get shot during a round and enter spectater mode. One of the other players did something I'd never seen before, and so I typed "lol wtf?" in the chat box. 10 sec later, I am kicked fro profanity.

Not that I cared that much, but its a PUBLIC SERVER and there were NO scrolling rules against profanity. So (I was bored) when I rejoined and asked why I had been banned (feigning ignorance) the admin says: "This is a house of god. You committed heresy." 😕

It's an America's army server. You are running around shooting people who appear to be Muslim Terrorists. Since when is a house of god a house of war? WTF is this the crusader server?

He then proceeded to quote several irrelevant passages from the bible that I've never heard of. After a few more minutes of chatting I discover he's here to convert gamers to some denomination of Christianity I've never heard of (read: cult) I basically told him to get a life and realize that his prospective convertees would be disillusioned by an admin who is so unforgiving of sin that he would ban people for using everyday chat-room language, and that he was unlikely to attract many followers. He responded by saying that his church would "only accept the pure".

It is at this point that ONE OF THE CLAN MEMBERS types "wtf" in the chat box. I am promptly kicked before I cant type anything else. Lol self-pwnage FTW.
 
It's a virtual training simulation whose soul purpose is to entice young viral teenagers to crave the real thing and call up their local recruiter.

take from that what you will...

no, there are "christian" clans out there. i've accidentally stumbled across them in other games, like Call of Duty 2.

They have rules like no swearing and stuff like that. I think they even had some bible passages in the little server info screens and stuff.

Can't help but notice the supreme power they think they have as admins. I've seen Christian clans in CS, TFC, Unreal2004, DoD, each one is the same. All of them kick you without notice and if you hop back on and ask why or ask someone to explain they tell you JUST BECAUSE and they would kick you again. My handle used to be "foreplay"... they didn't like that one so much.
 
I have seen a few servers that are Christian funded or just people who don't like profanities. So just don't go back there or obey their rules. What is the big deal?

a cod2 server i play on has a no swearing rule. they ban you if you do. they're not christian or religious based as far as i know.

Christianity=hypocrisy, as all religions do.
 
People that try to convert others through video games as if they're doing God a special service appear hypocritical to the large majority of people. I don't believe that Christians should be prohibited from interactive entertainment, but they should leave the witnessing for serious purposes.

While I do see the humor in the OP, there really are much wierder gamers.

Maybe someone could drgde up the link to the WoW RPers that were 'making out' in the tram tunnels.
