Ok after my epic fail with an HP OEM . I took some advice and this is the cart I built. Now I was trying to build a good mid range gaming rig for as cheap as I could. I know this is not a good plan and wish I had more money to have spend. I want this system to run at the highest settings on games like borderlands 2 (when out) SWTOR,Battlefield 3,etc I am not that pick i can turn down shadows and stuff. I am so sick of pushing all my money into consoles so I decided to go this route. Now I have already paid for everything so let me know if I screwed up. I know my motherboard is cheap (cheap build) But I figure I can easily buy a new motherboard in a few months VS Buy a better Processo..

I did not know that but it will work until I can get some more cash right? I can run it stock until I can overclock it right?

I'm a little confused by the dissonance between the thread title and the OP. Have you bought those parts or are just looking at buying them?

Sorry I have paid for these parts and they have been shipped waiting now. I only had $700 to spend so I bought the parts that I can keep for awhile with a cheap board to get my by until I can afford a better one lol ya I will want to overclock so I will have to upgrade in a few months.

New MBs just came out so you should have got one of those and a cheap dual core CPU, then upgraded it to Ivy Bridge CPU in a little while instead. You're not so bad off though.

Honestly what you've picked out looks pretty good for the most part. The main thing that concerns me is the Rosewill Green power supply. I'd have gone for something a little higher quality, but it's not likely to blow up or anything.

Why buy two CPUs instead of a single better one? It's not like IB blows SB out of the water or anything.

some people have been overclocking to 5.5 on the 2550k That is pretty good I will wait until the ivory bridge is good and stable before I sink my money into it.. Yes the power supply is ok though I mean it is certified right? Orginal price before coupon was $80

EDIT: From what I have heard The i5 2550k is just an i7 with hyper threading disabled plus no igp.. It shows up as an i5 2600 or so I was told.. I did see a screenshot of it aswell

Oh shit one more thing do I need to order wires or special cables? I have never built before so I do not know if this stuff is included.

No, the motherboard will come with the only cables you need, to connect to the disk drives.

The power supply has the cables for power, the case has the cables for its front ports and switches and a bag of screws for attaching the motherboard and disk drives.

5.5GHz on air (or moderate water) is wishful thinking for anything other than a suicide run. 4.5Ghz is more likely.
