Sorry about the weird formatting.... 180 MPH gust at the top at 2PM and the average speed at 1PM at the top was 108 MPH... sheesh... We are getting hammered here at Tioga Pass like I haven't seen for some time, if at all. We had guests go out yesterday, and me and someone else went down on snowmobiles to check up on them, and had 4 avalanches or slides come down while on the road... I will be glad when this storm is over... I think we are approaching 10 feet of snow in less than a week.

Here is a pic from earlier today...

Wow Buck_Naked..that's crazy. Mountains around here are getting hammered, our ranch in Trinity County at 3600 feet probably has 3 or 4 feet of snow..

We even saw some snow down here in the 600-foot Ukiah valley today :Q

They are calling for up to 6 feet overnight.... Its going to be a long week... :D All we need now is to lose power... Its been off briefly 3 times today.... 4 or 5 years ago we lost it for about a month.... 2 years ago we lost it for a week.

I'm curious, but say you guys get snowed in and its impossible to leave. How are guests who's accomodations are ending handled? Do you give them complimentary rooms, continue to charge them the current rate, special rates, what?

God Hates you
...It's been raining here in Cali for the past 2 weeks. It only stopped momentarily during the New Year to let us enjoy the Rose parade and the football.:|

It depends... We cancelled some parties that were coming in because of the storm. The guests here now knew there was a good chance of getting snowed in and stayed anyway. We are a backcountry ski resort during the winter, and the only way in for guests is to ski in, snowshoe or walk. We are about 6 miles from the gate that closes the road.
