good ol' memories. i've so been spoilt by 2000 and XP that to see win98 installed on my dad's machine is so weird!!

does anybody know if there is a way to show the connection icon thingy when you're connected to the LAN in the taskbar? in xp etc its so easy- but i see no option to enable it in 98!

/me boots 98 on VMWare....

I'll be damned if I can find it! Hmm, I'm not sure, AFAIK it's available under 2000/XP only.

why do you need the little icon anyway? it's just a waste of space. there are a billion easier ways to discover if you are connected to a network or not 😛

This was only available for NICs on 2k and up. It is not available in 9x. It is available for dial-up connections though.

there is no way todo that ~ wish there was so i could turn off my LAN (nic card) with a double click 🙁
