that website won 10 grand for the school in 99, and has hardly been changed, minor mods all around. but then the company who sponsored the program went bankrupt. The "webmaster" taught math until he tried webmastering, and he knew nothing. luckily every year has had a few kids who know what they are doing. they teach him, he keeps learning more. we had one kid right the forums for the site, and the search bar, its all custom. we had another guy come in and make the main banner, everyone else based it off of the main banner you see.

some cool spots on the site though.

tr.v. com·mer·cial·ized, com·mer·cial·iz·ing, com·mer·cial·iz·es
To apply methods of business to for profit.
To do, exploit, or make chiefly for financial gain.
To sacrifice the quality of for profit.

Not the best word to describe it.

how not? they are using it to gain money. although most of that money will go back into the place they use to host it from.

How does a high school website get 11,000 hits a day?

when we host the KIT (Kenston Invitational Tournament) we have live feeds, and up to the minute stats. The amount of hits it gets in those time periods in unbelieveable.

Too bad it's not coded in raw notepad.... I took a look at the source and nobody writes perfectly like a.. *ahem* program. 🙂 Still pretty good for a school website, but I would give it more credit if it was made in notepad other than some drag and drop program that anyone can do.

the main code was hand coded in notepad (i was a frosh at the time) but now its easiest to teach the students to use dreamweaver. i mean seriously, its one of the most fun classes in my high school. and dreamweaver makes the wear and tear on the main guy a LOT less.

Hey, I coded my site by hand. I had to because I wanted it to be 100% text based.😛

I like the hand coded ones, because they're more geniune, and you can tell the person spent a lot more time rather than just throw something together quickly in an automated program. I'm glad my teacher in my high school taught HTML code instead of a program. I already knew the html though so it was easy for me, so I just helped him out and taught the other students.
