Wow! Viewsonic EF70 is great!

Finally opted for the Viewsonic EF70 flat screen 17'' monitor. After having tried out the KDS AV7TF for a couple of weeks, the EF70 is simply amazing. Text is crisp and sharp everywhere on the monitor. Color is great. Although the color on the KDS is very good, the KDS model doesn't have sharp text like the Viewsonic EF70. My 15'' LG Studioworks 57i crapped out on me while still under warranty. It couldn't be repaired, and instead of taking another 15'' model, I opted to pay the difference for an upgrade to the 17'' EF70, which means I still have money left over to buy a Celeron II to fit in my Abit ZM6. No regrets!

Well I don't consider it to be a ''budget'' monitor. I live in Canada and paid 433$ CDN for it (about 300 $ US). Comparable in price to the KDS AV7TF and just a bit lower than the Samsung 700NF. The Viewsonic PS790 is a shadow mask monitor, and never saw it. One thing I don't get : there are a lot of posts about the Samsung and KDS models, but almost none about the Viewsonic EF70 and other Viewsonic models?!? Kind of odd as I assume that Viewsonic make some of the best monitors. I am surprised that nobody recommends their monitors more. All in all, I think it's a great monitor. It got a rave review at PC World back in July.

if your monitor looks as good as mines or better, i would be mad that i paid more money trying to get their highest quality "17 monitor, i paid $359 for my viewsonic PF77 which supports analog & digital signals & has a higher refresh rate but the color on the lower right color is uneven, on a orange background you can see it's purple tint & also when i was play the escape from monkey island demo.

Viewsonic's tend to get a bum wrap. I have a PF795 and it's just stunning. Paid 150 buks less then a compariable Sony monitor. I saw no real difference and saved a bundle.

They started using them at work. New guys get them. They are really nice. Very sharp, bright rich colors.
