I learned a good lesson after taking my car from the valet at the airport this week. If you have them clean your car, make sure they didn't also shine the tread of your tires. I had no clue that I should even check this because the thought that someone would do that is unfathomable to me.

I leave my TC off on the summer tires except for in the rain. Turning out of the parking lot, I almost completely lost the rear end. That's just dangerous. I was able to get that crap off the rear tires shortly after that, but for a few miles, I felt like my front tires were sliding around on ice. I'm just glad it was dry. Here you can still see a bit left that I didn't rub off (even around some of the center tread)

I had valet cleaning at PHL last Xmas. Jeep came out as as when new . The tires were clean, I did not notice the treads.

How long did it take to wear off?

They picked us up st airport in our vehicle so it may be worn off ny time we actually were driving.

The back tires wore off when I almost spun the car turning out of the lot. The front tires felt extremely swimmy for about 2 miles.

bro, if you get your car detailed much you will learn at any 'bulk' detailer your car will drive through that slime. Always take it easy out of a public detailer.

They didn't detail your tread, they drove over the product.

I bit the bullet and had my car detailed today. For $107, I got clay bar, correction and a wax/sealent plus leather treatment, shampooing and vinyl dressing. Got a free T-shirt and a $18 wash/interior clean coupon.

Pretty good deal. Car looks beautiful but it ended up storming today. I can bring it back in up to 48 hours for a free wash and dry.

Well now you know what to do to your rear tires when you want to have some extra fun in an empty parking lot. :D ;)

I let these guys do it every few months. Never had an issue before.
