I don't see what's so amazing about that shot.
Clearly you are not a golfer. S'ok, if you did you'd realize that 999 times out of a 1000 that shot wouldn't have gone in. Given the importance of the shot, and given the tournament, I'd say this ranks up there as one of the best golf shots I've ever seen.
But that was like the typical miniature golf shot.

Umm...no.

I dont follow golf at all, but I saw that on ESPN while I was biking in the weightroom, and I was stunned. That was a one in a million shot. Simply amazing how it rolled to the edge, then stopped for a full second before slowly dropping in. Amazing shot.

Nike couldn't pay for better marketing...the swoosh was in perfect placement in the final roll and everything. Everything was just perfect 😛

Professional golfers all know the hill on that green and most likely practice on it many many times, the shot was nice but I'm just here to say it was pure luck the ball went in. No golfer *tries* to get it in the cup in a situation like that with that big a hill, they just try to judge the slope and chip it close in the vacinity of the hole and hope it at lteast gets to within a few feet. I thought if the DiMarco chip on 18 went in it would be much bigger, for one it would have won him the masters with that Tiger miss, and the fact that he was in a possition to *try* for the hole with his chip.

Edit: Oh and welcome to 4 days ago now. 😛

Of course its luck, just like every hole in one is luck.
No one ever say, "oh I'm going to hit a hole in one".
Its an amazing shot because its extremely difficult just to get it close and the way the ball went in PLUS in extreme pressured situation......Its an amazing shot !!!

Amazing shot though. I was watching the Masters and saw that chipshot. They must have replayed it 20 times throughout the broadcast.

Welcome to today. He provided a downloadable link, which if I'm not mistaken was not previously posted.

It happened Sunday during the Masters final round on the 16th hole. Welcome to 3 days ago.

Perhaps I didn't emphasize "downloadable" enough. I've seen the shot as many times as the next person (it even played under the rock I was under in afghanistan), but am glad to have a link posted to save the video to disk for future reference.

meh, if you watch golf much these kinds of miraculous shots happen. (from 200+ yards out mind you)

Although I do remember jumping up and down screaming at the TV trying to blow it in watching it live.

meh, there has been much better/more difficults to win tournaments.

And I'd say at his skill level he'll make that 2/10 times. The green on that hole just feeds to the cup, just watch all the hole in ones.

Yup. Really nice. And I'm not a golf person.

Everyone needs some luck to make a shot like that...a simple twig in the grass could impede the ball etc., but few golfers in the world can make the right read from the rough, as well as execute the shot perfectly to get the ball close to the cup. That's all a golfer can ask for, but when your that good at those two things, its going to on occassion get so close it goes in. That was remarkable, as well as the level of concentration to not choke in such a high pressure difficult situation was also remarkable.

stop and try it again. when you find a slot of time when nobody else is downloading, it goes to 240+ KB/s (assuming you have that bandwidth to begin with, of course) and you'll be done very quickly.

True, but if you've ever watched the practice rounds live they acutally practice those kinds of shots over and over. When they chip that close to the hole they're aiming for it to go in, and it frequently does.
