I have no idea how long it has been since this thing was last defragmented, but holy crap i think it will take all day to defrag!

i prefer to do it during the day, and when people ask "why is the network slow?" i can act irritated and say "i'm working on it"

people generally leave you alone after that

Use PNG format for screenshots. No compression artifacts, and smaller filesize. :)
(Of course, saving the JPEG image, with the artifacts, to PNG will increase the size, as it preserves the defects.)
:p

Psh, only a 100GB partition.
At least you realized it now. I remember seeing a 5 year old PC that had never known the love of a good defragmenting program. Norton Speed Disk's drive map (back when Norton Utilities were better than they are now) was an utter mess. Wee little pieces of data all over the place.

100GB C Drive?
Storage array?

Ever had checkdisk run on an 800GB volume because nobody is in front of the console on a reboot?

Yep... More or less. I had a 1TB 4-disk JBOD array that I used for AVI video storage. After deleting some vids, and then downloaded more (from tape), it got messy. I don't even know how long it took to defrag that.
Tas.
