yeah i wouldn't even notice the difference if i saw the bike riding past. its not like i'd think oh wow, thats a custom built moon bicycle model 2004-x3-45028 crafted by the german manufacturer helmons hoitz

Yep. The beauty of bikes is in all the nitpicky details. I'd guess it takes him the better part of a day to make each of those lugs.

Yep. The beauty of bikes is in all the nitpicky details. I'd guess it takes him the better part of a day to make each of those lugs.

its sad really, most people dont' appreicate how much work goes into certain things unless they're coinneusseurs (i have no idea how to spell that word.)

Edit- this is also why crazy people like me spend so much money on bikes. Riding around on something special is just....cool...even if no one else gives a rat's ass what kind of bike you have. ;)

All my bikes have been lugged other than my newest one. It does look pretty slick with tiny little TIG welds, but I kinda miss the lugs.

Fillet brazing is really the way to go if you want a completely sleek look. Makes all the tubing look completely seamless when done correctly. Very big PITA though, so you don't see it much. Example of a fillet brazed joint.
