Does your company offer Alaskan cruises? Maybe you can jump ship for a couple weeks.

Its called winter. Where are the church of Global Warming people? Maybe they should pray to their god some more.

Snow kidding!

Yes but my ship does not go that way. I've never been through the Panama Canal. :(

Alaska is on my bucket list. (as is spending a week at Mt Washington, NH during a severe storm when sustained winds are 120MPH for a night. It will be so weird hearing the wind howl like a pack of rabid wolves and actually be able to sleep above the floor!

it's raining in the mid-atlantic today; hopefully it'll help melt away the last of the snow banks from last week's blizzard.

yes, it is snowing again, the storm looped around iowa and came back for a 2nd shot at us
we are pretty much snowed/iced in (we got sleet first last night)
with the wind, it is hard to tell how much we got, some spots are clear from the wind blowing it away, other spots are snow banked up to about 6 inches

it doesn't take much to close the roads around here, but we have no good reason to leave the house before monday anyway

Black Hills have gotten over 38 inches.

Mt Washington in the winter is an experience.

I have spent a night above the treeline on Mt Madison while in Scouts in February.
Dry socks are worth their weight in gold!

yeap. i live in norhtern IL we got maybe 9-10 inches and supposed to get another 4-5.

the snow does not bother me. We got a bad ice storm Tuesday night and that did a lot of damage.

Here in AL we vanquished the snow demon a long time ago. It dare not come anywhere near us.

Northwest area maximum snow depth is 889 in. That's what, 74 feet. I wonder where that is.

This.

If you're going to take a stab at an opposing view, at least have the decency to know what you're talking about.

this is OT. if you want to be stabbed at, you could go to p&n, although there's even less of a chance that the other people will know what they're talking about.

Climate change is a CYA for the church of global warming people so that they can get away with the weather being colder or warmer than normal. Its a way for them to justify anything so that no argument can be made. Truth is, the climate is always changing folks, otherwise, we'd still be in the ice age. :hmm:

I miss having lot of snow. We only have like a foot or so now. I remember in my childhood 6-8 feet on the ground by now was pretty normal. The tractor would come plow our driveway and the snow hill was higher then the house!

I remember one year I built a tower on top, I would climb the tower and actually could oversee a decent part of the neighborhood. It was actually possible to get injured on these snow hills because they were so high up. Tunnel building was lot of fun too but it was usually frowned upon by adults due to possible cave ins. There has been incidents involving that in my city.

In past few years it seems the mild weather drags forever then slowly turns into Winter and then it ends later and never actually fully transitions into summer, it just gets milder and rainy then the cycle continues. I have not seen a real winter or a real summer in years, we seem to be stuck in limbo or something lol.
