Wow the US mitsubishi EVO is a real badass.

Link $30k gets you an AWD with 271 horsepower, but what really shocked me was the .97 this beast gets on the skid pad (that number from car and driver I think).

Is there any other car at this price that would take the evo on a track?

So when does the AWD model of the 350z come out?

what does it not being AWD have to with anything? So maybe it doesnt get a .97 on the skidpad becuase its rear wheel drive... doesnt mean i wouldnt rather have one in a race though.. the 350 is just an overall nicer car.

Skoorb mentioned "$30k gets you an AWD with 271 horsepower". You countered with a RWD car. Not quite the same market.

Thus my comment.

And just when you do I'll switch. I'm still not used to it 😛

I wonder if a $30k version of the 350z could compete with this around the track? It could compete, but .97 on the skidpad really is awesome.

he also said :

and the 350 falls in that price range, and could take the evo on the track.. or at least give it a run for its money.. or maybe not... doesnt matter.

I'm happy this is coming out. My next car will definitely have AWD. The AWD will be a nice security feature for when I go snowboarding (almost every weekend). And since I'd rather have a small 4 door car than a SUV, this helps out. Gives me another car to choose from along with the WRX and A4 at about the same price.

I don't think a Z could keep up. The Evo not only handles better, but it's slightly faster in the straights. The only car I can even think of that handles that well even near this price is something like the Lotus Elise (not available in America, but it regularly gets tested at well over 1.00 g on the skidpad). I've seen the Miata tested as high as .94 g's, as well, but of course it's way slower than the Evo.

However, I'd still rather have a Z, personally. You trade in some performance and utility, but you get a lot more style and a better interior IMO.

G35 Coupe > 350Z > EVO > WRX
It's ok, but nothing spectacular. It's also a mitsubishi which isn't a strong point IMO.

I'll go back to the lion eventually btw !

No, I don't like the looks either. For pure price/performance ratio, though, it's unbelievable.
