Wow. The movie Audition.

I just finished this movie. Wow. Pretty messed up. I have one question for those who have seen it.

At the end when Asami is laying on the bottom of the stairs, it shows her neck with a big bulge and then makes a weird gurgling sound. What's going on there?

I kept thinking it was an alien and she was gonna split open and start attacking the son and the father. Heh.

Yeah, I figured she broke her neck, but it was just weird how they showed it. The director's commentary didn't say anything about it. I played Resident Evil 4 a couple weeks ago and I kept thinking about those parasites.

Yeah, I figured she broke her neck, but it was just weird how they showed it. The director's commentary didn't say anything about it. I played Resident Evil 4 a couple weeks ago and I kept thinking about those parasites.

hmmm.... I didn't watch the directors comments or the extras on the disc when I had it. I just assumed they made it obvious so that we'd have a resolution that she died or at least wasn't going to be able to harm anyone again.

The way they showed it seemed like it was a horror flick, even thouth the director said it wasn't a horror flick like Juon and Ringu. Her neck was just bulging with a slithery/gurgling sound that it seemed like something WAS inside of her.

On a side note, her costume would be a cool one at a Halloween party. 😀 It's sexy and horrific at the same time.

Believe it or not, Audiiton isn't even the most messed up movie that Takashi Miike has directed. Go check out Ichi the Killer (aka Koroshiya 1) for some real gruesomeness...

That having been said, the torture sequence in Audition is probably the most intense scene of its kind ever...forget about movies like SAW or Hostel.

Yeah, I saw Ichi. For just gore factor, I'd have to go with Ichi. But for disturbance factor, I give it to Audition. It reminded me so much of Silent Hill when he flashes back at the end there, witnessing her puke dinner and the sack d00d. *shudder*
