This is the first time I've really sat down and watch the Mets play a game since they're playing the Braves today and I've got the house to myself for once. The Mets can't even make the most basic and fundamental of infield plays. No wonder Glavine can't get any wins with a microscopic ERA. Most of the runs come off errors!

There must have been at least 2 plays that were scored as hits that should/could have been scored errors. They later came around to score. Mets pitchers deserve better.

Who else, Matsui and Piazza (playing 1st).

Typical... I've been seeing this ALL SEASON.

Matsui is the worst shortshop BY FAR in the major leagues. If it wasn't for his good bat I'm sure the Mets would've dropped him to the minors to fix his defense up or something. I mean really.. the man has NO range.. he doesn't even dive for the freakin ball.

<sigh>... its over.. the season is done. I really think the Mets should consider trading Glavine to a contender like the Red Sox..I'm sure they'll pick him up. Glavine deserves better. ..ALL the pitchers deserve better. Except for Franco and Stanton...they just gotta go.

His lack of offense is really killing the team. You figure with him being in first base he would hit better since he wouldn't as tired as he could be if catching.. funny thing is that his numbers are better this season as a catcher. Go figure...

Yeah he's just complete sh!t and until the Mets dump him they'll never be able to rebuild.

they should have put Matsui at 2b and left Reyes at SS - look for that switch back next season...

Cameron is a gold-glove CF, Hidalgo is very good in RF - Floyd is an awful outfielder.....Wright is supposed to have Rolen-like ability on D...Piazza is awful, at C or at 1b - he is really headed for DH duty - he may end up in the AL very quickly, as soon as next season perhaps...

Not gonna happen with Piazza because of the amount of money he makes. Mets are stuck with him till the end of next season when his contract ends. I agree with your outfield assessment and while I think Matsui and Reyes will switch positions next season, what makes you think Matsui will be good at second?

I suppose he'll cause less unearned runs there. Reyes looks really solid at second and with his nice range it really shows how bad Matsui is. Also, Jose's arm is WAY superior over Matsui. The man can't throw for nothing.
