Wow, the airline tried to ruin our vacation right from the start

So my girlfriend and I are off to Europe tomorrow. I decided to web check in even though I didn't really want to thanks to providing all the passport information and such.

I fill out all the check in stuff, and print our boarding passes. I check the time on them...6:25PM.

Our flight time was supposed to be 8:00PM. I check my email (searched it) for all Air Canada emails, and I only had the original booking confirmation which stated 8:00PM.

I call Air Canada and confirm the time, and they confirm they changed the flight time on April 15th. They said they sent out an email which I never received, despite Air Canada being a safe sender in my junk mail. That's not a lot of time to notify people by email, never mind allowing them to modify their plans...

We were planning to arrive at the airport at 6:00PM, two hours before like suggested. We never would have made it.

That is why airlines state when making reservations that you should always check on status 24 hrs before departure to check if nothing has changed

They're out to get you. I'd suggest you don't fly or you'll end up on an island being chased around by polar bears.

It's not totally out of the norm for airlines to adjust flight schedules. They did the same to me for my Vegas trip in two weeks.

Just be glad that you checked your itinerary before your departure and do so every time you travel.

Me and my GF are heading to Florida on May 28th. Bought tickets about 2 months ago and since then I've got 3 emails for a "Change to your Itinerary."

Heh my GF and I are leaving Florida on May 27th :p

But anyways, my flight using Delta to Cancun this summer was cancelled so expedia sent me an email saying to call them to reschedule a flight. We rescheduled it no problems.

So yah I'd suggest checking the junk email on your account associated with your purchase of the tickets, cause chances are it went into there.
