Wow, that was awesome

My mom was calling my future ISP (switching) and trying to find out why we haven't received our modem and all that yet (been 25 days). The guy on the other end seems to be asking her some questions, at one point he asks her for her e-mail address, I thought that was odd, but whatever. Then I hear her say "my password?" and she starts to give it and I interrupt her with "wait, hold on. Why does he want your password?" and she waves me off with this upset look and finished giving it to him.

...

That's your password for everything; including your online banking.

Good job. Ignore me. I know nothing.

Hmm..odd

I know as a rule RR is never allowed to ask for the password, but we do for certain services like dial-up, setting up email addresses for the clients.

I believe that's what he was doing for her, I can't imagine any other reason for asking. That's why I asked why he wanted, so I could tell her to give him a dummy password or something.

what did she say afterwards?

To me? Nothing. I gave her a dumb look while she was on the phone then walked away.
