Saw it for the first time last night. It was alright, just not up to the hype that some on these boards gave it. Nowhere near the level of LOTR or AOTC. True, different genres, but still not in the same league. I'd give it 3/5 stars. Worth a rental, but not much more. My kids loved it though (3 and 6 years old).

It was an enjoyable movie - one of my all time favorites.

Spider-Man is so popular because people can relate to him - he has to juggle around a job, pay bills, have a love life, etc... while being a superhero. He's more of the people's superhero.
