i dl'ed a few programs through sourceforge before, but didnt even realize or bother to check what sourceforge was. it seems like an awesome resource pool there!

so far ive used a few handy util from sourceforge (photo archiver, gaim, etc)... anybody know other good and worthy programs there to check out?

Check ffdshow and ac3filter if you ever download movies :)
(Legal ones of course, wouldn't want the RIAA's pets to drool over me)

Yeah, sourceforge has its reliability problems at times, but I guess you should expect that considering the sheer mass of stuff going on there. I'm in a couple projects that use sourceforge, and it really is invaluable. CVS repository, bug/feature request tracking system, file release system, web space, activity tracking, easy user/group management, everything. It's awesome.

Also, if you're just looking for programs to download, freshmeat.net is probably better.
