I'm still laughing at this situation..maybe to just hide the humility behind it, but laughing nonetheless.

So there's this little kid who's the little brother of one of my friend's, and I to talk to him every once in a while. Tonight then, I have no idea what I did to piss him off, but apparently he just broke up with his first gf and had some emotions stirred up in him..and proceeds to tell me (on AIM) "I have one more thing to tell you..DON'T EVER TALK TO ME AGAIN, EVER. NO JOKE".

And at this point I'm just speechless than this 14 year old is telling a 19-year-old this, as if I'm the reason they broke up or something.

Strange little boy..

Uh... maybe he just wants to be left alone and he momentarily found an emotional venting point? The last thing he needs now is to be antagonized, so telling him that his girlfriend "was a ...." may not be such a good idea. Just be his friend and help him get over it.

Wait, what am I saying!? AT is the epitome of "I can't get over my girlfriend" threads. Strangely enough, this 8th grader doesn't sound much different than the late teens and early 20's folks that I see here bitching about their girlfriends.

that's nothing, while playing pickup basketball a few days ago, this 13 year old started talking mad trash to me and my friends who are 23-28 years of age.

dude, that isn't telling somebody off! :D

don't take it personally, though, he's going through those hormonal changes and stuff.

Nah, this kid needs a good kick in the arse to make him realize that there are other girls out there.

Well, considering he's a pretty considerate nice little boy who's never said anything bad to me..it's quite a jump from our usual conversations making fun of his sisters.

No, he doesn't. He needs to know what it's like to go through it since this is his first time. Let him suffer. Let him learn on his own while you sit back and give him advice. Soon enough, when he's older, he'll be mature enough to realize that there are plenty out there. Even then, you don't kick his ass over it; you caringly point him in the right direction. And, if you have to, you keep steering him back into the right direction time and time again.
