Wow... Shawshank Redemption being voted 2nd best movie ever

This is definitely one of my all time favorite movies, but I just noticed that something like 90,000 people have voted for it as second best movie of all time. Pretty cool, in a latenight, I need to go to bed kind of way.

It was an alright movie, but it's not the 4th best ever made.

Eh there's all kinds of things that are wrong with that list...

Saving Private Ryan being ranked lower than Fight Club?

Toy Story 2 #83? Forrest Gump being #125? There's no way Toy Story 2 is better than Forrest Gump.

Ahaha, Clerks made it in at #220...

Yeah, that list is fubar anyway...but I do think that Shawshank is that good. I love it.

I never said that it was an official hollywood list, it's just the imdb.com top 250 list. Mostly web geeks and such voting on it, not a full sample of the US population.

Still kinda cool though.

i'm glad i don't see those hollywood mega blockbuster crap movies like titantic.

Oh i can't believe Gattaca didn't make it. Score of 7.5 where the cutoff is 7.6.

I think it deserves to be in the top 10. When LOTR first came out there was a huge boost in IMDB, but lately it's been dropping a bit. 10 years from now it should settle in around 7-9 methinks.

But seriously, imdb is the largest movie site on the net, I think they represent good opinions.
