WOW questions regarding spells

Hi,

I'm new to WOW, and I'm playing the game as a bridge until Oblivion comes out (if that one turns to be as good as expected).

Anyway, I'm a n00b WOW player, and I'm getting some questions regarding the spells of the Paladin. Any help clearing up my mind will be greatly appreciated.

This info is taken from allakhazam which I belive it's a source of correct info (am I wrong?).

1# Seal damage and more than 1 seal at a time

Seal of Righteousness
Rank 5
Fills the Paladin with holy spirit for 30 seconds, giving each melee attack a chance to cause 29 additional Holy damage. Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time. Unleashing this Seal's energy will cause 64 Holy damage to an enemy.
Melee attacks have a chance to cause 29 additional Holy damage.

So does it mean it will give 64 damage on the enemy right at spell successfull cast? Then 29 each time I swing my weapon at it?

Also, "Only one Seal can be active on the Paladin at any one time". Does it mean I cannot have more than one "Seal of Righteousness", or that if I for example have a "Seal of Righteousness" enabled I cannot add another seal like "Seal of the Crusader"?

2# Spell I cast that hits me???

Judgement of Light
Rank 1
Melee attacks made against you have a chance of causing the attacker to be healed for 25.

Does it mean I cast a spell that when I'm hit the enemy will be cured? Am I reading it correctly? What's the use for that?

3# Different Auras are commulative?

Frost Resistance Aura
Rank 1
Increases nearby group member's frost resistance 30. Players may only have one Aura on them per Paladin at any one time.
Increases frost resistance by 30.

Similar to point 1#, can I cast a "Frost Resistance Aura" on the party and a "Devotion Aura" at the same time?

4# Target and duration of Aura

Devotion Aura
Rank 1
Gives 55 additional armor to party members within 30 yards. Players may only have one Aura on them per Paladin at any one time.
Increases armor by 55.

When I cast this aura, I see a blue cross on everyone's feet. I believe that it's correctly applied. But some issues arrise:

Does it affect all friendly targets, or only those grouped with me?

Also, I noticed that a couple of times the blue cross appeared also on the enemy's feet. Is it applied to the enemy? Is it a bug?

Thank you for your help. I'll be posting some more questions as they arrise on my head.

Thank you.

It has a chance to proc additional 29 damage as long as it is active. You only get the 64 points of holy damage when you 'judge' the target. This also removes the seal so you'll have to recast it.

#2

Not sure.

#3

You can only have one Aura active per Paladin in your group. You could technically have 5 different auras going if you have 5 paladins in your group. BTW, auras only affect those in your group and not all nearby friendly units.

#1: All Seals can be "Unleashed" via a special seal, i believe, called Seal of Judgement. 1 seal only, of any type.
#2: I think that must be the seal that heals you every time you hit the enemy
#3: 1 aura at a time
#4: Only those in your group, doesn't touch enemies at all

1) When you have Seal of Righteousness active, everytime you hit an enemy, there is a chance of doing an additional 29 damage. If you cast Judgement while you have Seal of Righteousness active, it does 64 damage to the enemy. Judgement transfers the current activated seal onto an enemy (and each seal has a different ability).

2) When you Judge Seal of Light, everytime you (or anyone attacking the "Judged" mob), there is a chance that you get healed for 25 hp's. This is particularly useful for longer fights when in a group (such as boss fights).

3) Its been mentioned already, but you can only have 1 aura activated at a time.

4) All aura's only affect party members.

So for each seal rank, i'll have a judge seal with the same name and rank?

For example, I cast "Seal of Light Rank 2", wait for about 28 seconds to get the self benefict, then before the "icon" goes away, I cast "Judgement of Light Rank 2" and transfer it to the enemy, and everyone in the group will get healing for each melee attack? Is that it?

Well, no. Seals only last for 30 seconds. So, when you cast it on a mob, it will only stay on the mob for the remainder of the duration. For example, you activate Seal of Light, and Judge it after 1 second. The Judgement effect will remain active on the mob for about 29 seconds (and anyone attacking that mob has the chance of being healed for X amount).

Seal of Righteousness is a little different in that the Judgement effect is just instantaneous damage.

no offense, but why not ask this over at the official WoW forums in the Paladin forum?
would seem more appropriate.

... because the WoW Paladin forums are filled with nothing but "OMGNERFPALLY's" spam and people asking when patch 1.9 is coming out.

Mainly because these are my prefered forums, the ones I respect the most for all users that drop by ... when I think about posting something on the web, my 1st choice ALWAYS goes for anandtech forums. It's a matter of preference.

You may have already seen this website, however, if not, I find it's the most usefull site for WoW related things.

Thottbot

I've linked the paladin page, and it explains the seals better then alakazham me thinks.
